Not mad at all! Can't wait to see what they're going to do with Destro and Cobra Commander.

Man...the West is looking bananas! I can't ever remember the 1 through 8 seeds being so tight. The East on the other hand, you have to think Boston & Detroit are heavy favorites along with Cleveland...but don't sleep on the Wizards.

I've been really looking forward to this fight since it was a rumored fight last year.
Calzaghe at 36 is now getting his long awaited recognition from across the pond beating guys like Jeff Lacy (who at one point was one of the top up and coming Super Middleweights), Peter Manfredo from the Contender, and then undefeated Mikkel Kessler. But his biggest test without a doubt will be Bernard Hopkins this Saturday. Bernard's slick style will be something a bit new for Calzaghe let alone fighting in Las Vegas for the 1st time.

As much as I want Bernard to win, it's still a toss up fight. Calzaghe is undefeated and can make a huge mark beating Bernard with potential fights looming against guys like Roy Jones & Kelly Pavlik. Bernard on the other is on the last stop in his career (so we think) and a win over Calzaghe can only add that last exclamation point to an already Hall of Fame career.

I have Hopkins winning a split decision, but regardless it should be a great fight.

Here's Hopkins vs Calzaghe Countdown on HBO:

Sorry...I'm an Air max fiend.

I'm still a big fan of the 90's, but the 1's and 95's have been killin it as of late. These are no exception.

I actually didn't see the 1st movie until it was on HBO 2 yrs later LOL. Was actually entertaining. Here's brief plot summary based off the novelization of the movie being released shortly before the movie premiers this Summer.

THE X-FILES 2008 MOVIE NOVELIZATION MMPB
by Max Allan Collins
Mulder and Scully are back in the thrilling novelization of the summer 2008 blockbuster movie based on the classic X-Files TV show! When a group of women are abducted in the wintry hills of rural Virginia, the only clues to their disappearance are the grotesque human remains that begin to turn up in snow banks along the highway. With officials desperate for any lead, a disgraced priest's questionable "visions" send local police on a wild goose chase and straight to a bizarre secret medical experiment that may or may not be connected to the women's disappearance. It's a case right out of The X-Files. But the FBI closed down its investigations into the paranormal years ago. And the best team for the job is ex-agents Fox Mulder and Dr. Dana Scully, who have no desire to revisit their dark past. Still, the truth of these horrific crimes is out there somewhere...and it will take Mulder and Scully to find it!

BET & Marvel Comics recently signed a deal to air the animated series of Marvel character Black Panther. It will air sometime later in the year or possibly early '09.

I'm not mad at this. It's about time they started utilizing more of the Marvel characters who aren't as relevant as the Spideys & Wolverines.

Black Panther Bio

The Black Panther (T'Challa) is a character in the Marvel Comics universe who is the first modern Black superhero. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and penciller-co-plotter Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four vol. 1, #52 (July 1966). Although there have been numerous men who have used the Black Panther identity during the history of the Marvel Universe, this article refers solely to the modern-day Black Panther, also known by his birth name, T'Challa.

ComingSoon.Net is reporting that Eddie Murphy is attached to star in the remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man. Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct.

An updated version of the best-selling novel and 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, "Man" is taking the comedic approach to the fantastical material, telling the story of a famous Las Vegas magician who is put under a spell that causes him to shrink. He must find a way to reverse the spell before he gets so small that he "disappears."

Am I the only one getting tired of "PG" Eddie Murphy?

So Miguel Tejada apparently lied about his age...

ESPN confronted Tejada on a televised interview about the age discrepancy and seemed not to appreciate the questioning and left the interview abruptly.

The big fuss is that he was signed by the Oakland A's in 1993 when he claimed to be 19 but was really 17. But who cares? What are you going to do about it 15 years later?

"E:60" correspondent Tom Farrey presented Tejada with a copy of a birth certificate, filed by his father in his hometown of Bani, that showed he was born on May 25, 1974. The document was acquired by a Dominican law firm hired by ESPN after clerks at the town hall in Bani declared -- improperly -- that Tejada's records were confidential.

Damn...this is a big blow to the homie. According to the ever popular Smoking Gun, Akon was never convicted of crimes he claimed on an interview stating he was looking at 75 years for a ring of car thefts in New Jersey, when in actuality it was 1 stolen BMW and spent a few months in jail but was "never" convicted.

So there was no conviction. There was no prison term between 1999 and 2002. And he was never "facing 75 years," as the singer claimed in one videotaped interview.

Ouch...

I posted a story about the reuniting of New Kids on the Block a few days ago sorta poking fun at it (...well yea I did actually poke fun). But yo, this new joint caught me way off guard. The beat is fresh and the Bean Town Boys did their thing, I can't be mad.

Looks like Busta's 1st single "We Made It" will include Linkin Park. The song is produced by Cool & Dre as well as Mike Shinoda.

Busta Rhymes will drop verses with Linkin Park when they guest on Busta's new single, "We Made It." The track, which was produced by Cool & Dre and Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, will introduce the Rapper's eighth studio album, Blessed, which is due June 17, according to Billboard.com. Shinoda and LP frontman Chester Bennington also will appear in the video. "This is one of those songs that can't be described better than touching the souls of the common people," Rhymes said.

RIP New Line Cinema

Author: RL

Wow, this is crazy news. New Line Cinema are responsible for creating the ever popular Nightmare on Elm Street series among countless films since the mid 80's. I wonder where this puts the Night Mare on Elm Street remake that was in the works.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Time Warner Inc will cut 450 jobs from New Line Cinema in a highly anticipated move following an earlier decision to fold the movie studio under the wing of Warner Bros Entertainment.

About 40 of New Line's employees will be offered new jobs at Warner Bros in positions that will not displace existing Warner Bros jobs, a Time Warner spokesman said.

Employees are being informed on Monday and Tuesday.

About 40 to 50 existing New Line employees will remain at the division renowned for its blockbuster hit franchises, including the "Lord of the Rings" series.

LMAO...damn talk about being ahead of your time. The FBI reportedly bought a sex tape of Marilyn Monroe's for $1.5 Million.

The footage appears to have been shot in the 1950s. When it came to light in the mid-'60s, then-FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had his agents spend two weeks futilely trying to prove that Monroe's sex partner was either John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy, according to declassified agency documents and interviews, Morgan said.

Can we get a "leakage" please? LOL

This looks hard! WWE is killin me with their video games and haven't improved the gameplay since No Mercy on the N64 (which is being released on the Wii console with updated rosters from what I've been told).

I definitely might have to cop this.

This is big news for this year's draft. This kid at 6'9 is an animal. The Heat arguably could have the #1 pick in the lottery having the worst record in the league this year. But we all know the lottery isn't 100% guaranteed (as seen with Boston last year).

Not the way you're thinkin LOL. Apparently Big Boi has landed a gig providing his musical touch to a ballet choreographed by Lauri Stallings.

The Ballet opens this Thursday in Atlanta

Big Boi's contemporary style may seem inherently different from the traditional and classical sounds that normally echo through an Atlanta Ballet performance. But, Stallings said, as a choreographer it's not a stretch to equate one of hip-hop's biggest names with some of the most venerated composers who are usually the backdrop for traditional ballets.

After years of speculation & 2 Directors later it seems as if The Hobbit is finally coming along. Here's an excerpt from Guillermo del Toro about the highly anticipated film:

I am dying to share news but I have to be patient and wait until the papers are done and my attachment is real. Nevertheless- a LOT of progress in defining the films, their cast and crew. And, may I add, we are all happily in synch about all creative aspects so far and all willing and eager to move forth.

Sorry I haven't posted anything the past couple days. Moving can be a bitch!

But let's see...oh yea there were some fights this weekend.

The highly anticipated date of April 12th pitted both HBO & Showtime cards simultaneously with HBO showcasing the rematch between Antonio Margarito and Kermit Cintron and the main event consisting of WBA Welterweight Champ Miguel Cotto going against The Contender's Alfonso Gomez. Showtime's card was a Light Heavyweight double header with former champ Glen Johnson vs Chad Dawson & Antonio Tarver vs Clinton Woods.

Johnson vs Woods

The first fight I caught was Glen Johnson vs Chad Dawson. Man...what a fuckin fight! Both dudes were just trading punches throughout the entire fight. I think Johnson landed the harder and cleaner shots, but Woods came to fight too and was landing some bombs. But in the end they gave a UD to Woods 116-112 which is disputable, but regardless both men put on a crazy fight.

Margarito vs Cintron II

Sometimes I give fighters too many chances to impress me, but I think this was my last straw with Kermit Cintron. O)nce again Antonio Margarito beat the shit out of Kermit Cintron who's defense paralleled a one-armed midget. Cintron kept complaining during the fight saying Margarito was hitting him in the back of the head. In the end Margarito's pressure was too much as he laid out Cintron with a vicious body shot in the 6th round.

Cotto vs Gomez

The pic above says it all. All the naysayers and Cotto haters got a small yet impressive dose of an almost new Miguel Cotto who boxed, outclassed, and man handled Alfonso Gomez to a 5th round stoppage by ringside Dr (wow). Cotto looks a lot faster and if you don't mind me saying...flashier than I've ever seen him. Grant it Gomez wasn't at any time what most would call a "Potential Threat" (contrary to what some fools were telling me prior to the fight LOL). Cotto's constant pressure and body shots were just too much for Gomez as he looked like he got jumped by 2 guys.

So what's next??

Only the long awaited match up between Antonio Margarito (now IBF Welterweight Champ) and Miguel Cotto (WBA Champ) set for July 26th.

This should be one hell of a fight. I'll give my predictions as it comes closer to fight time, but this has Fight of the Year written all over it. Take note Floyd...

Tarver vs Woods

I hadn't seen much of Clinton Woods before this fight, but many were saying he was another great European fighter who would take Tarver to the limit. Well...that did NOT happen here. Tarver came in great shape and was the quicker & cleaner puncher throughout fight. Woods looked very stiff and didn't seem to know how to neutralize Tarver's jab. Tarver took a 12 rd UD.

And Next Week...

Bernard Hopkins vs Joe Calzaghe for BHop's Ring Light Heavyweight title...and it's on HBO (Thank God)!! I'll talk more about this later in the week.
