Dark Knight Trailer

Better quality will be up shortly.

Man talk about left field promotion. Check the 5 min. clip of the highly anticipated JJ Abrams monster movie.

5 Min. Cloverfield Clip

I also came across this pic of what is supposed to be the Cloverfield monster:

In the latest trailer you can see a girl being attacked by what seems to be a parasite. Well this pic claims there are parasites that are living on the monster until it hits the island.

The movie becomes more intriguing by the day.

Prom Night Remake

Author: RL

I'm a big fan of 80's horror and I kinda figured they'd remake this one eventually. The original starred Jamie Lee Curtis during her run as "Scream Queen" coming off movies like Halloween, Terror Train, and The Fog.

Premise:
Donna's senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best frinds, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible...the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of a killer, and survive their Prom Night.

RIP Ike Turner

Author: RL

One of the most underrated musicians of our time.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Ike Turner, whose role as one of rock's critical architects was overshadowed by his ogre-like image as the man who brutally abused former wife and rock icon Tina Turner, died Wednesday at his home in suburban San Diego. He was 76.

"He did pass away this morning" at his home in San Marcos, in northern San Diego County, said Scott M. Hanover of Thrill Entertainment Group, which managed Turner's musical career.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death, which was first reported by celebrity website TMZ.com.

Turner managed to rehabilitate his image somewhat in his later years, touring around the globe with his band the Kings of Rhythm and drawing critical acclaim for his work. He won a Grammy in 2007 in the traditional blues album category for Risin' With the Blues.

But his image is forever identified as the drug-addicted, wife-abusing husband of Tina Turner. He was hauntingly portrayed by Laurence Fishburne in the movie What's Love Got To Do With It, based on Tina Turner's autobiography.

Oh boy...here we go again...

A year after ego trip’s The (White) Rapper Show debuted on VH1, the ego trip collective is returning this spring with a new spin on their successful reality show. According to an article in the Hollywood Reporter, the new show, called ego trip’s Miss Rap Supreme, will feature a search for the next great female MC. 3rd Bass’ MC Serch will be returning to host the show, and rapper Yo-Yo, who broke onto the scene in 1990 as a protege of Ice Cube, will be joining him as this season’s co-host.

ego trip is best known for their independent ’90s hip-hop magazine, which spawned two successful books, 1999’s Book of Rap Lists and 2002’s Big Book Of Racism. In 2004, they began their relationship with VH1 by producing the hour-long special TV’s Illest Minority Moments, followed by 2005’s three-part series Race-O-Rama. On The (White) Rapper Show, which debuted in January 2007 to 2.3 million viewers, Atlanta rapper Shamrock beat out the show’s 12 other contestants to win $100,000.

With the much anticipated Hatton vs Mayweather fight behind us now, let the talks begin of what could be the "real" mega fight of the decade.

During the promotions for Hatton vs Mayweather, fans were already mentioning Miguel Cotto as Floyd's next opponent assuming Floyd was going to beat Hatton anyway (which most of us were crowned Nostradamus for the night). With Floyd dodging Cotto questions and hinting retirement, is this fight really going to happen?

If you're not a fan of "Money" May you at least have to give him credit in building up a fight and striking while the iron is hot. Both the Oscar & Hatton fights drew crowds of people who weren't necessarily big boxing fans, but were intrigued by Floyd's flamboyance and how he puts that "bad guy" attitude into the heads of people who want to pay to see Mayweather catch an "L" from the next "promising" opponent. With all the "big" challenges that Floyd has faced since moving to Welterweight, has Floyd really fought the best fighters?

Miguel Cotto is arguably the #2 Welterweight in the world. He's coming off an impressive win over future Hall of Famer Shane Mosley (who also wanted a shot at Mayweather but was turned down). He's another undefeated fighter that is getting more impressive with every fight. Similar to Floyd, the skeptics always try to dissect & pinpoint Cotto's flaws and what the opposing fighter (i.e. Quintana, Corley, Mosley, Judah) can do to better the Puerto Rican star, but with no luck.

Cotto is the fighter most boxing fans gravitate to. He can box with the best of them, and can trade power punches when needed. With Tito Trinidad's shadow being a non issue anymore, it's Cotto's time to step onto the grand stage many boxers never get a chance to make it to.

On paper a Mayweather vs Cotto fight today just makes all the sense in the world.

Example:

Floyd Mayweather
39-0 25 KOs

Notable Wins against:
Zab Judah (12 rd unanimous decision)
Oscar De La Hoya (12 rd split decision)
Ricky Hatton (10th rd TKO)

Miguel Cotto
31-0 25 KOs

Notable Wins Against:
Carlos Quintana (5th rd TKO)
Zab Judah (11th rd TKO)
Shane Mosley (12rd unanimous decision)

You couldn't ask for a better fight, right? Unfortunately, you won't be seeing this just yet. Cotto will have to play the waiting game for at least 9-10 months. Floyd's strategy is always about the dollar and he knows that a fight with him against Cotto would be one of the biggest draws in boxing history. That's something that you can't cook up in a matter of 3 months. So I'm not really mad at that, but who's next if not Mayweather for Cotto?

Here are some proposed opponents you "may" see face Cotto come Spring time if Floyd doesn't have a sudden urge to make the mega fight happen sooner:

Antonio Margarito - 35-5-25 KOs
Kermit Cintron - 28-1 26 KOs (IBF Welterweight Champion)
Paul Williams - 33-0 24 KOs (WBO Welterweight Champion)
Oscar De La Hoya - 38-5 30 KOs
Ricky Hatton
- 43-1-32 KOs

Grant it each of those fighters would be a good fight for Cotto. But would a win over 2 guys who already lost to Mayweather, 2 others who are still on the come up, and Margarito who turned down a fight with Cotto to take an L to Williams solidify Cotto that much more?

I await 2008 impatiently...

Unfortunately (or fortunately)I missed this fight from the Ultimate Fighter Finale show and all I heard from everyone who saw it was, "Holy shit!!!". So for those like myself who were watching the Floyd vs Hatton, here you go.

Knock Out...

Author: RL

All the screaming UK fans couldn't help Hatton once he stepped in the ring Saturday Night against Floyd Mayweather as Hatton was knocked out in the 10th round by a series of left hooks.
Hatton had little success early in the fight getting in close to Floyd landing body shots against the ropes. But Floyd was too fast & too accurate as Hatton resolved to trying to throw haymakers to the body with no luck.

During the post interview both fighters agreed it was a tough fight but Floyd pushed away the topic of a possible mega fight with Miguel Cotto as he hinted retirement once again saying he's proven everything he needs to prove as a fighter and is looking into promoting (whatever...).

So looks like we'll have to play the waiting game once again as Miguel Cotto seems to be the popular choice by fans to be his next opponent. But it takes time to build a fight of that proportion. Holla at me come November '08.
