Wow...this came out of no where. Supposedly he had an Asthma Attack. Condolences to the whole Screwball click.
For those who don't know who Screwball are, they're a trio from the famous Queensbridge Projects that did a good amount of their work in the late 90s with the likes of DJ Premier (F.A.Y.B.A.N. & Seen It All).
My man BK Cyph is really diving in for the '08. On top of the joints we got going as the Soul Street Symphony duo, he's released a huge track simply, but directly titled Never Sold Crack. The song is produced by Tampa's Acafool.
Make sure to check out Cyph's page at: www.myspace.com/bkcyph
Things are about to get real stoopid!!!
I've been reading about this for the past month with doubts that it would happen, but both camps seem to be in legit discussions. Apparently Anderson Silva wants to "box" Roy Jones (yea...BOX). On paper, this fight makes no sense whatsoever. Roy Jones is an accomplished boxer and a former 4 time champion in 4 different weight classes. Grant it, Silva is possibly the #1 P4P MMA fighter in the world, but stepping in a boxing ring years after his 1st 2 pro fights can make him bate for Jones. I'll keep posted on further info as it comes in.
It seemed like a fantasy, but representatives for UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, and former four-division champion Roy Jones Jr., have confirmed to the Associated Press that talks are ongoing for a possible boxing match between the two fighters. The reports notes that negotiations are in the preliminary stages, but both fighters are pushing for the clash to happen.
Alan Hopper, the PR director for Don King, informed the AP that talks are ongoing and Jones is interested in making the fight. According to a report by NBCSports.com, the fight will be an official boxing match and not an exhibition. They would likely meet at a catchweight between 170 and 185-pounds.
Anyone in the NYC Metro area check my man Shakespeare March 31st @ The Knitting Factory for High Water Music's showcase. If ya'll haven't seen Shake rock live...YOU'RE SLEEEEEPIN!!!!!!! Wish I could be there...
I can't wait until 'till this game drops. It finally got a release date of June 10th.
Check the pics:
Supposedly there's 40 "known" boxers in the game (which is crazy considering Fight Night has about half of that). The boxers included in the game are as follows:
Daniel Ponce de Leon
Juan Manuel Marquez
Jose Luis Castillo
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
James J. Braddock
Kanye has this posted on his blog page. Man, is this brutal!
Mikkel Kessler & Edison Miranda were set to fight on May 24th on Showtime...at least until now. Mikkel Kessler's camp has pulled out of the fight for an undisclosed reason. Miranda's trainer states:
"I have no idea why he pulled out. He must be afraid to fight Miranda," Margules told ESPN.com. "We gave them everything they asked for. Showtime gave them everything they asked for."
Smells like a bitch move on Kessler's part
I've seen this pic or a similar one last year.
This is one of the concept art pics for the movie, which is filming as we speak.
The movie is set to release in Aug of 2009 (damn, that's a lot of time to wait).
For those who are late on this, the FBI recieved documents recently linking Diddy & BIG to the 1994 shooting of 2Pac in NYC (which was the beginning of the BIG & Pac fued). Federal Inmate James Sabatino (above) claims to have been associated with Diddy during the time of the shooting and released false info which led to an investigation of Diddy's part on the shooting.
Rest of the story on: The Smoking Gun
I never owned a pair of these III's, but I'm definitely coppin these! They drop in October
A new pic of the Grey Jordan Spizikes was released as well:
Sick! No release date yet for these.
I miss the old Eddie Murphy...but this shouldn't be "that" bad.
Rob Zombie is almost pulling a JJ Abrams card as to what his new project will be in 2009. There have been rumors for months about a film he's in the process of making titled Tyrannosaurus Rex. No plot has been released yet, but it is confirmed that T-Rex is indeed a biker. Some have mentioned his comic with Steve Niles simply titled Nails as being an adaption of the comic, but Zombie shut those rumors down and states it has nothing to do with it.
Below is a teaser poster / pic of Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This was from a recent chat session Floyd was in for BoxingTalk.com.
Some of these questions had me rollin! LOL
By easywork: So I just got back from Floyd's recent chat that he had. Man it was hectic. There were about 30 people in there and people kept talking and getting banned. Chaos. Anyway, for those that missed, here's what went down.
QUESTION: Floyd, why don't you fight Cotto a fight the fans want instead of facing De La Hoya which isn't that appealing
MAYWEATHER: The Oscar De La Hoya fight is the biggest fight in boxing. Everybody knows that.
QUESTION: mayweather who is the second greatest boxer of all time after you?
MAYWEATHER: All that's objective. There have been a number of great fighters from different eras and I have a lot of respect for all of them.
QUESTION: WHY ARE YOU SCARED OF FIGHTING COTTO? I USED TO BE A FAN OF YOURS BUT YOU ARE WAY TOO COMMERCIAL NOW.
MAYWEATHER: Anybody with any common sense would know that I'm not afraid of anybody. I'm the creme de la creme. what I got to be afraid of?
QUESTION: Floyd, do you plan on fighting in 2009?
MAYWEATHER: I take it one fight at a time just like I take it one day at a time.
QUESTION: Floyd I'm your biggest fan and a good friend of your fathers. I pray you both please work things out with him for your kids, yours and his sake. God bless Daniel Telley
MAYWEATHER: Thanks for your support.
QUESTION: Floyd, why wait until now to express your concern about Roger training Forbes? Why not express your concern when the fight was first announced and everybody already knew that Roger would be in Steve's corner?
MAYWEATHER: Let me make one thing crystal clear. I made it known from the very begininng that I didn't approve with my uncle training Steve Forbes. It didn't have to be Forbes. It could have been anybody who was fighting De La Hoya before our mega fight. All this bullshit about me coming out with this just now, it's a bunch of bullshit. My uncle knew I wasn't feeling that from day one. Why would I want the best trainer in the world to help Forbes beat De La Hoya when we're going to break our own record this fall?
QUESTION: why exactly did you and 50 cent get into a fight?
MAYWEATHER: I wouldn't even answer a question so ridiculous.
QUESTION: FLOYD WHATSUP....any chance you fight in the MSG BEFORE YOU RETIRE..FOR US WHO CANT FLY TO VEGAS
MAYWEATHER: Who knows what I've got in store for y'all, but like I said, we take it one day at a time, one fight at a time. But if I ever fight at the Garden, it'll be because I chose to go to the Garden. But everyone knows what the boxing capital of the world is and that's the great city I live in, Las Vegas!
QUESTION: Why you so scared of fighting cotto?
QUESTION: Calzaghe Or Hopkins?
MAYWEATHER: It should be a great fight. Both of those guys got a lot of experience. Hopkins has been in more bigger fights than Calzaghe, but Calzaghe is a very skilled fighter so it's going to be real interesting.
QUESTION: Mayweather, are u fighting De LA hOYA FOR SURE OR NO
MAYWEATHER: Oscar has to win his fight on May 3. If he wins his fight on May 3, we're fighting in a mega fight in the fall.
QUESTION: Thanks Mr. Mayweather for taking the time to talk to us. How have you been training for Big show? Also how can i get tickets for you delahoya fight?
MAYWEATHER: Yes, I have been training for Big Show. People are going to really be surprised at how I go about handling him come Sunday night. I appreciate all the support from my fans all across the world, please tune in. There is no rematch if he don't take care of his business on May 3, and that's not a given.
QUESTION: Who wins Zab-Mosley and would you fight the winner? Also, Floyd how have the wrestlers backstage treated you considering you are making a lot more than them?
MAYWEATHER: It should be a great fight with a great turn out. The fans will be very pleased with the electricity and fireworks for that fight. Some of them have been very supportive and some of them feel jealousy, but at the end of the day, it's business and because I put myself in this position with a lot of hard work and a great team, then how other people feel is out of my control.
QUESTION: Which are some of the boxers that you like to watch fight?
MAYWEATHER: I enjoyed the Nate Campbell fight. There have been a lot of great fights lately. Boxing is on the rise again and all I'm trying to do is bring more eyeballs to the sport. Since I am the face of boxing, I got to do what I can to elevate the game.
QUESTION: Floyd, BoxingRights.com reported Cotto just got a tattoo that says "Mayweather is afraid of me" , your thoughts? and what do you think of boxrec.com having Bernard Hopkins as number one pound for pound?
MAYWEATHER: A lot of people are entitled to their opinion, but there's only one best fighter in the world. Everybody knows who it is and it's not Bernard Hopkins. How can he be the best in the world when he just lost to Jermain Taylor? My record speaks for itself. All I'm going to do is continue to beat the best fightes out there.
QUESTION: Yes you are a great boxer and you skills unmatched but your money only attitude towards everything is really quite boring and pretty childish. You cant even get the fans to cheer you in wrestling. I think its time to reavaluate your persona and be more of a peoples champion and not some self centered ego maniac that is consumed with himself. Why do you and the other greedy ego maniac fight ever other year when im not wearing fishnets or buying magazines de la hoya expect us to shell out another 60 bucks to watch another version of dancing with the stars. Really the first fight was terrible and almost unwatchable. What is going to make this one better? Us fans deserve better.
MAYWEATHER: I can guarantee you this, if he gets by Forbes on May 3, the only thing going down with stars will be Oscar seeing them. I'm going to make him see them if he gets by Forbes.
QUESTION: Who has been showing you the ropes for WWE? Also, can I use the nickname Money?
MAYWEATHER: Just about all of the guys have been helpful with showing me a lot and giving me tips. I've been working with a couple of very good wrestlers to help me prepare for the big showdown this Sunday night in Orlando.
QUESTION: Floyd much respect.Who do you think will win between Cotto and gomez and what do you think about the ufc's aderson silva wanting to fight roy jones and do think it will ever happen? Good luck at wrestlemaina.
MAYWEATHER: Who cares about that fight? Roy would knock him silly if they fought in a boxing match.
QUESTION: Floyd, do you think you got beat in the sparring session with Paul Spadafora and does he impress you? Thanks for your time champ! and best of luck to you and your family!
MAYWEATHER: There's no such thing as getting beat in sparring because it is what is. When I boxed some years ago, I had been off and not doing anything for seven months. That was my first day in the gym and we boxed for six rounds. And if he got the best of me, so be it. what does it mean?
QUESTION: we all know that cotto has a glass chin,so once you're done with oscar pleeeeeeeeease show him like ricky hatton that he's an overhyped hbo poster boy myth.
MAYWEATHER: Everyone knows that Cotto is a fan of mine and I'll just leave it all that.
QUESTION: Everyone knows you ducked Tony Margarito and you claimed you were retiring. We are starting to see a very similar patern here going on with you and Miguel Cotto. Will you cry at the post press conference after the ODLH fight, and claim you are retired again to avoid fighting Cotto?
MAYWEATHER: Who is Miguel Cotto?
This is slightly based on the original Terror Train which starred then Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis. The original was about a group of college kids who board a train for their Senior Trip only to be killed one by one by someone who is closely tied to them. But this looks like it's following the same trend as Hostel & Saw (brutality wise). I really hope Hollywood doesn't go ape shit with this style of movie like they did with the Japanese horror remakes.
After all the hoopla on the XM / Sirius merger, it's finally been approved.
Damn I really need to hop on this shit...
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — The U.S. Justice Department approved the merger between satellite radio companies Sirius and XM Monday, more than a year after the two companies first announced their deal.
In its decision, the Department of Justice had to determine whether an XM-Sirius merger was anti-competitive, or if other media companies such as Clear Channel (CCU, Fortune 500), CBS (CBS, Fortune 500), or even Apple (AAPL, Fortune 500) with its iTunes software and iPod music player served as alternate options for music and media customers.
The Federal Communications Commission must also approve the deal before it can officially be completed. The FCC has yet to make a decision on the deal.
The merger would combine the nation’s only two satellite radio companies and create a company with about 14 million subscribers. It would bring together Sirius’ most well-known content, including Howard Stern and National Football League games with XM’s Major League Baseball as well programming from Oprah Winfrey.
Shares of XM (XMSR) and Sirius (SIRI) both rose after the announcement.
More new shit!!!

Andy Lee: Overhyped?
This is turning out to be the year of upsets. Middleweight Prospect Andy Lee took his first "L" of his career from a 7th round stoppage by former Contender contestant Brian Vera (Damn...the 7th round is starting to become that round dudes get bodied in LOL).
Some were calling it an early stoppage as Lee was just taking loads of shots (no homo) and still trying to connect. But it was obvious Lee was a couple punches away from getting really hurt, and according to Emmanuel Steward (who trains Lee)he had no problem with the stoppage. At this point, why not John Duddy vs Andy Lee?
Here's the video of the stoppage:
Casamayor KO's Katsidis
Wow...what a fight!! I didn't know much about this kid Katsidis but that he was being compared to Arturro Gatti for his relentless punching style while also getting knocked around. Joel Casamayor had a lot to prove that night coming off a controversial decision over Jose Armand Santa Cruz a few months back. Casamayor knocked down the young Katsidis twice in the 1st round only for Katsidis to come back in the later rounds knocking Casamayor through the ropes with a vicious body shot (which hilariously Casamayor claims after the fight he wasn't hurt from that LOL). Casamayor started to pick up steam and in the 8th and 9th landed the harder shots until katsidis was caught in the 10th round with a nasty left hook. He managed to get up on wobbly legs but it was only seconds after where Casamayor finished the job with a 10th round stoppage.
After the fight he mentioned he wanted a big money fight with Manny Pacquiao as Nate Campbell's camp stormed the ring challenging Casamayor (who Casamayor had beaten years before).
Here's footage of the Casamayor vs Katsidis fight:
