Cloverfield Review

Ok...the hype is over and the movie is finally here. I won't lie and tell you I wasn't hyped like a muthafucka to see this flick. With all the internet searching for this God Damn Monster and hysteria about how they're going to stop this thing, it was finally time to see if the movie lived up to the hype.
So the film starts out like you're literally watching a US Govt tape with watermarks sayin "Property of US Dept. of Defense". I kinda like how they did that to start it off and get you in gear for what you're about to see. Now though the movie obviously revolves around a monster attacking NYC, there is a love story that brings the suspense factor up heavy towards the middle of the movie.
Without giving too much away, the monster begins its onslaught on NYC during the time a going away party is being filmed for the main character. Little by little you begin to see the monster and its "little friends" through side shots of the camera or clips from the News station.
It's definitely worth seeing. The suspense was intense at times because you didn't know what was around the corner. Some people complained about the end, but if you put into consideration how the movie was presented to you originally, you should find it satisfying.
